Not only are we able to offer those in need, free fruit, vegetables and bread thanks to Foodbank NSW & ACT, as well as low cost hampers and other items which we can purchase heavily discounted.
But we also buy some of school lunch meats, all snacks and well as some breakfast club supplies like juice, yogurt and butter. People often comment on the wonderful and nutritious meals we serve to our friends who are experiencing homelessness in the park. This is possible again to Foodbank Australia. As we base what we are going to cook, around what we can purchase there weekly. It cuts our costs dramatically.
